Kamlesh D Patel, affectionately known as Daaji, is a spiritual leader, author, and the fourth in the line of Raja yoga masters in the Sahaj Marg system of spiritual practice. He has been the president of Shri Ram Chandra Mission since 2014, a non-profit organization founded in 1945 and associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information. Early Life and Professional Life
Born in Gujarat, India, in 1956, Kamlesh D Patel displayed an early interest in meditation and spirituality. He started practicing the Sahaj Marg system of Raja Yoga meditation in 1976 while studying to be a pharmacist. After graduating from L.M. College of Pharmacy in Ahmedabad, he moved to New York City, where he built a successful pharmacy business. Since 2003, he has mainly been working for Shri Ram Chandra Mission without holding any positions of profit.
Kamlesh D Patel was initiated into Sahaj Marg meditation by a trainer in 1976 and subsequently received training from Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur. After Ram Chandra’s passing in 1983, he worked with Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari (Chariji), the second president of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, holding a number of responsibilities in the organization. In October 2011, he was nominated as Chariji’s successor, and after Chariji’s passing in December 2014, he became the spiritual guide and the third President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.

Kamlesh D Patel advocates bridging ancient tradition with modern scientific understanding and has assembled a team of one hundred scientists to research the physiological and genetic effects of meditation and yogic transmission. He believes in approaching spirituality with scientific methodology, a practical approach stemming from his own experience and mastery in the field.
Kamlesh D Patel has written two books on the topics of meditation and spirituality. The Heartfulness Way, co-authored with Joshua Pollock, was released in 2018 and became a best-seller in India. Designing Destiny was released in 2019. He also wrote a book named The Wisdom Bridge, which was released in 2022.
